20 WAYS TO MANAGE YOUR TIME FOR SUCCESS

Each moment in your life you need to recognize what works for you and what does not. Chances are you are dabbling in different things at the same time and nothing seems to make sense. Today is the perfect time to figure things out.

Yes, managing your time is a difficult task. There never seem to be enough hours in the day, but if you learn how to properly manage the hours you do have, the results may astonish you.

Below are 20 ways you can manage your time with relative ease:

1. Block all social media during the work or study, limit using it as much as possible

There’s no better way to procrastinate than by browsing social media. One minute you are stalking your ex and the next you’re on your sister’s best friend’s Facebook timeline. Social media sites know no limit and can literally get your sucked in for hours and not even realize it. So limit your usage of social media in general. The time spent on social media is time you never get back.

2. Create a schedule/routine

By creating a schedule, you can better prepare yourself for the weeks ahead. It allows you to put all your commitments in front of you so that you may realize the time you can dedicate to each obligation. It also helps to prioritize, as you are picking and choosing what you have time for.

3. Don’t waste your weekends being drunk

Nothing prevents productivity quite like a hangover does. Your weekends are when you typically have your most free time, so try and capitalize on it instead of getting unnecessarily drunk

STUDENTS PLAN NATION WIDE PROTEST AGAINST ASUU STRIKE

PLANS have been concluded by some Nigerian students to organize, beginning from Tuesday, a mass protest against the on-going ASUU strike aimed at highlighting the woes troubling public education in the country.

The planned protest organised by the Joint Action Front (JAF) will see protesting students in the South-West zone blocking all roads leading to Lagos State tomorrow.

According to JAF, the protests, which will kick off at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) office at Yaba, Lagos at 8 a.m., will also include zonal rallies in Kano, Ibadan, Owerri, Calabar, Abuja, among others.

JAF, has stated the aim of protesting is to draw attention to the bleak future that awaits Nigerian children due to the neglect of public education.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had, on July 2, declared an indefinite strike over unresolved issues contained in the 2009 FG/ASUU Agreement. The union took the decision “after exhausting all available avenues,” when the Federal Government breached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they both signed in January 2011. One of the contentious issues was the non-payment of Earned Allowances.

But the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie, swiftly criticised ASUU’s action, describing it as unfortunate and capable of destroying the university system.

However, a meeting organize by the Federal Ministry of Education to resolve the issue ended in a deadlock. A senior government official was quoted as saying that it was impossible for the Federal Government to implement the MoU. The union has also vowed not to suspend the strike until its demands are met.

'ASUU STRIKE MAY END NEXT WEEK' - Governor Suswam

Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam has disclosed that the ongoing strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities may end in the next one week.

The governor gave this assurance shortly after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“I want to say that we are having negotiation with ASUU. In the next one or two weeks, we should be able to arrive at something that will necessitate them calling off the strike, once we are able to agree with them on all issues that they have raised.

“So far, there are only two outstanding issues, the NEEDS assessment and the earned allowances. The NEEDS assessment which I’m handling, we have virtually concluded. I think by next week, it will be definite." He said

He assured that new life.will soon be injected into the Nigeria’s university system.
