'YOU CAN'T BURY PDP' - PRESIDENCY REPLIES GOV. NYAKO
Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, has swiftly rejected as mere brag the threat by governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa and four other PDP, governors to bury the party, if stakeholders are unable to crack the crisis rocking the party.
Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, further disclosed that the five governors were incapable of bringing down the PDP. He alleged that the governors were trying to force President Jonathan out of power in 2015. Gulak, however, said that they would fail, as their agenda was not in the interest of the generality of Nigerians.
“They (the governors) cannot bury PDP, as the party is above them.
“Their agenda is not to bury PDP but to get President Goodluck Jonathan out but they will certainly fail. I can assure you that all those in that group and sharing their agenda will also fail woefully, as Nigerians are wiser,” the Presidential adviser said.
Meanwhile, Former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, has described the five Northern governors as ‘real patriots’ and praised them for taking the trouble to seek answers to the nation’s crises.
“I just want to commend the governors and some of their colleagues. I am very impressed because they see the problems of this country as their problems and they have taken the right steps to make sure that they consult widely in trying to find solutions to some of the nagging problems. It shows they are real patriots and I am very happy with them.” Babangida said:

IF PDP WILL DIE, I'LL BURY IT - Gov. Nyako
Nyako, in an interview with BBC Hause Service, during an afternoon programme (Shirin Rana), said some of the party’s stakeholders were still members of the party because of the political positions they are presently occupying.
“People are saying that the PDP is dead or about to die but a concerned person like me will remain in the party till it dies and give it a befitting burial. If PDP will die, let it die in our hands so that we will give it a befitting burial and mourn her, he said.
“The party is currently going through its worst times as a result of the highhandedness and anarchy with which the leadership of the party at the National level is addressing issues.
“The problem of the party lies with those stalwarts in Abuja that have succeeded in putting the party in a state of coma, and it is our fervent hope that they will be prevailed upon to do the right thing so that the party can be cured of its ailment." Nyako further alleged.
According to him, it was due to the decay of things in the party that some of the concerned governors started meeting with some powerful stakeholders in the party.
This, he revealed was the reason for their visit to Abeokuta on Saturday to meet with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
